Weather in the Balearic Islands will arrive marked by an intense wind and the worsening of the sea’s state tomorrow, Friday January 9th and the day after that, Saturday January 10th, according to current meteorological warnings of the Metheorology Statal Agency (Aemet). In all these cases the danger level is low, with an estimated probability of a 40% to a 70%.

In the coast, wind will reach 50 to 60 km/h (force 7), accompanied by 2 to 3 meters waves.
By the afternoon, between 8 p.m. and 11:59 p.m., the episode will move to the north of the archipelago. The Sierra de Tramuntana, the north and northeast of Mallorca and Menorca will register a northeast wind with up to 70km/h streaks.
Saturday, January 10th, wind will still keep the spotlight. From midnight until 05:59 p.m., up to 70 km/h streaks are expected in the Sierra de Tramontana, the north and the northeast of Mallorca andMenorca, with predominating wind of the west and northwest.
In addition, the maritime gale will remain active all day in these areas. 50 km/h (6 to 7 force) winds are expected, with streaks of up to 70 km/h and 2 to 3 meters waves, so being cautious in nautical activities and in the exposed coast is advised.
Although the warning level is low, authorities advise ensuring fragile objects that could be moved by the wind, avoiding exposed coastal areas during the peak of the gale and consulting the meteorological evolution before doing any movements or sea activities.
