YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!This competition has been the last qualifying regatta of the Optimist class, and with this one, Mallorca's insular ranking is closed, of which the chosen ones to participate in the Balearics Championships will come out. Throughout two intense sailing journeys, with a forecast marked by good weather, almost the totality of the programmed sessions in this second edition of the trophy have been able to be celebrated. The regatta kicked off on Saturday with a SW stable wind between 10 to 13 knots, which allowed carrying out the 3 races expected for the day for Optimist and Optimist D. At the end of the races, on land, participants could enjoy hot dos and Vela Ligera Store, sponsor of the regatta, raffled 16 packs of material between the assistants.
Regarding Sunday, wind did not show up, until at 1 p.m., when people could start sailing, thanks to a northeast wind that enetred with force in the bay. The Committee has been able to carry out the 3 programmed races for the Optimsit class and only 2 races for the Youth category of the Optimist D class, given that the conditions were quite harsh for them.
"This trophy is much more than just a simple regatta", ensures Sandra Pascual, of Vigela Ligera Store, who ass that "it is a bet for giving the sailing world what it has given us back." It is an encounter surrounding values such as fellowship, family and learning, and it's our way of thanking the sea everything that is has taught us. The most special thing about this encounter is, beyond the competition, the environment that surrounds it. Kids who support each other mutually and, most of all, have fun together, grow up surrounded by respect, friendship and passion", she adds.
The Trophy Vela Ligera Store has concluded on Sunday, November 2nd on the afternoon with the corresponding awards ceremony, which has befallen on Stijn Oosterhaven from CN S'Arenal, followed by Jan Palou, from RCN Palma and Dani Capa from CN S’Estanyol, as third qulified of the overall class.
