The competition has developed in waters of the bay of Palma with east wind between 15 and 20 knots, and has consisted into two windward/leeward races after the suspension, yesterday, Saturday, of the coastal regatta due to the orange warning decreed by the Meteorology Statal Agency.
The crews of the Real Club Náutico de Palma have dominated the ORC 2 class, where the team led by Tejedor, with a second and third place, has overpassed Histolab, from shipowner and skipper Juan José Torres, in two points. The Tormund, of Jan Meincke, in representation of the Kiel Yacht Club, has lost all options of achieving victory by crossing the finish line on the first race of the day in seventh position. A first place in the final race has allowed them, however, to climb up to the third place of the overall ranking.
In the ORC 3-4 class, the Kyo VI, of Guillermo Durán, from Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa, has not given any option to its rivals when winning the two regattas. The Mestral Fast, of Jaime Morell, and the Micanga, of Mateu Grimalt, both from Real Club Náutico de Palma, have occupied the second and third place, respectively.
Lastly, in the Sportboat class, the Melges 24 of Marc Sadler, of the Club Nàutic S’Arenal, has also gained two races, in front of the Painkiller, of Markus Zinth, and the Blue Sail, led by María Bover.
