The Balearic Port Authority (APB) and the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) have launched a collaboration program that will allow university students to carry out external academic internships at APB facilities.

Thanks to this agreement, undergraduate and postgraduate students from UIB will be able to complete their training through practical internships at the ports of general interest managed by the Port Authority: Palma, Alcúdia, Maó, Eivissa, and la Savina. The internships may be curricular or extracurricular, and may also include final academic projects (bachelor's theses, master's theses, final course projects, or doctoral dissertations), always tailored to the student’s academic profile.
The APB will be responsible for defining the profiles and tasks, as well as selecting participants, while the UIB will ensure compliance with academic requirements and provide academic oversight. Each student will be assigned an academic tutor from the university and a professional mentor within the port environment.
The project, which initially runs for four years and may be extended, also establishes a Joint Monitoring Committee to ensure the quality of the program and address any issues that may arise.
With this initiative, the Balearic Port Authority reaffirms its commitment to training young talent and strengthening its ties with the university community and Balearic society.
