Two initiatives developed by Marina Ibiza and STP Shipyard Palma, facilities managed by IPM-IMG Marine Group, have been selected for the Monaco Yacht Show’s Blue Wake™ programme.

The programme has recognised two initiatives that, from different yet complementary perspectives, contribute to advancing towards a more responsible marine industry: the restoration of marine ecosystems and the adoption of a more efficient energy model based on renewable power generation.
The initiative presented by Marina Ibiza focuses on restoring one of the Mediterranean’s most important ecosystems: Posidonia oceanica. In collaboration with the Vellmarí Association, founded by National Geographic explorer and marine biologist Manu San Félix, the marina is developing La Pradera Posidonia Marina Ibiza, an ecological regeneration project that will involve planting 1,500 seagrass shoots during 2026 as part of the Talamanca Bay restoration programme, where almost half of the original meadow has disappeared in recent decades.
In addition to helping restore an essential habitat for marine biodiversity, the project involves boat owners, clients and visitors through a programme that allows them to sponsor new plants, transforming environmental awareness into direct and measurable action.
Through this initiative, Marina Ibiza is not only reducing its environmental impact but also actively contributing to the regeneration of the Mediterranean and the conservation of one of its most valuable ecosystems.
The project selected from STP Shipyard Palma recognises the renewable energy generation and energy-efficiency strategy that the shipyard has been progressively implementing since 2021.
Over these years, STP has expanded its solar energy production capacity through several photovoltaic installations across its facilities, while also introducing battery storage systems and charging points for electric vehicles powered by renewable energy.
The latest step in this strategy has been the commissioning of a new photovoltaic installation on the roof of the new changing rooms and public toilets, increasing the shipyard’s capacity to generate electricity for its own consumption.
Together, these measures have already prevented the emission of 587 tonnes of CO₂, helping to reduce the environmental impact of its operations and reinforcing a more efficient, resilient operating model prepared to meet the needs of the sector.
“Sustainability is meaningful when it is translated into concrete actions capable of generating a positive and measurable impact. The inclusion of two initiatives developed at our facilities in the Blue Wake programme recognises the work we are carrying out to continue promoting a more responsible marine industry that is committed to protecting the environment,” said Patrick Reynes, CEO of IPM Group.
Participation in the programme will enable both initiatives to form part of the Blue Wake platform during the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show, where Marina Ibiza and STP Shipyard Palma will be present at stand AL41 on Quai Albert Ier to showcase these projects alongside the other solutions and services they are developing to support an increasingly sustainable marine industry.
