Tim Lubat, from RCNP, arises with the absolute victory in the ‘Setmana de la Vela’

The sailor from Real Club Náutico de Palma, current Europe’s victor, has been claimed as the absolute champion after a very regular competition.

The sailor  from Real Club Náutico de Palma, Tim Lubat, has been claimed as the absolute champion of the 16th ‘Setmana de la Vela - Trofeu Duran’, organized by Club Nàutic Cala Gamba, after winning in the ILCA 6 class general. His victory has also been validated for the Federation’s Cup championship title of this category, integrated in the competition’s program. Lubat, current Europe’s victor, has carried out a very regular performance, with three partial victories, a second, a third and a fifth place, which have placed him in front of his peers, Nikko Palou and Carlos Zendrera, fromClub Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa.

The Real Club Náutico de Palma has obtained also the victory in the classification by clubs, followed by Club Nàutic S’Arenal and Club Marítimo de Mahón.

In ILCA 6 female, Aina Garau, from Club Nàutic s’Arenal, has been the winner, accompanied on the podium by Inés María Abreu, from Club Marítimo de Mahón, and María Gornés, from Real Club Náutico de Palma.

In addition to the absolute classifications, prizes have been given in different categories by age. In ILCA 6, The Under19 male have been leaded by Tim Lubat, followed by Daniel Smith, from Real Club Náutico de Palma, and Ismael Aish, from Reial Club Náutico del Port de Pollença. In Under17 male, the three firsts have been Nikko Palou, from Real Club Náutico de Palma, Carlos Zendrera, from Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa, and Biel Lladó, from Real Club Náutico de Palma. In the Under19 female Paula Rosselló, from Reial Club Náutico del Port de Pollença, Maria Rosselló, from Real Club Náutico de Palma, and Raquel Conde, from Real Club Náutico de Palma, have joined the podium, while in Under17 female the best ones have been  Mónica Osha, from Real Club Náutico de Palma, Gabriela Morell, also from Real Club Náutico de Palma, and Lucía Salas, from Club Nàutic Cala Gamba.

In ILCA 4, Patrick Tebbut, from Club Nàutic s’Estanyol, has won in the Under16 male category, Sofía Leal, from Club Nàutic s’Arenal, in Under16 female, Manuel Pardo, from Club Marítimo de Mahón, in Sub18 male and Laura Fullana, from Club Nàutic Portocolom, in Under18 female.

The final test has been disputed in the best possible conditions, thanks to an “embat” of southwest component that has fluctuated between the 8 and the 12 knots, which has allowed the competition to close up an excellent set of regatas.

The ILCA joined on Friday May 16th, completing the planned program for the organization. The previous week, Optimist and Lateen Sailing tests took place.
