Pedro Bestard, Second Vice President and Minister of Environment, Rural Affairs, and Sports of the Consell de Mallorca, introduced and tested the innovative water bikes. He highlighted that: “This unique activity is a preview of the new program we are developing in the department, aimed at older adults, with a strong focus on water sports.”
Water bikes are a new tool for promoting healthy, active lifestyles among seniors. They allow users to pedal safely, with great stability and ease, all while enjoying the natural surroundings. For people over 65, their use can improve cardiovascular health, burn calories, and strengthen leg muscles.
“The Consell will include water bikes in the regular programming for older adults. It’s part of our commitment to citizen health and ongoing innovation in activities promoted by the Island Sports Directorate,” Bestard emphasized.
