The Government Council authorizes the implantation of the titulation and addition, which will allow to put into force the new degree in the next academic course.

YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!The Government Council has authorized the implantation in the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) 2026-2027, as well as an extraordinary pluriannual addition of 5,529,488.88 euros to the UIB to finance the implantation of this new degree.
This investment will put into force the new degree with 35 places of new admission, with the aim of amplifying the academic offer of the UIB and to give an answer to the social and professional demand in the area of marine science.
The new degree answers to the strategic importance of the marine environment in the Balearic Islands, from the economic point of view as well as the social one, specially in key sectors such as tourism and nautical activity. The aim is to train professionals in the marine science area and in all its appliance camps, as well as in those related with marine science and its scientific-technical development.
The importance of the title is also reinforced by the presence in the Balearic Islands of reference research centers in marine sciences, such as the Mediterranean Institute of Advanced Studies (IMEDEA), el Spanish Institute of Oceanography, the Coastal Observation System of the Balearic Islands (SOCIB) or the Laboratory of Marine and Aquaculture Research (LIMIA).
