The TP52 fleet returns to the Palmavela with strength

Around ten TP52s are already entered across two different classes. On the one hand, the TP52 class, reserved for boats holding a 52 Super Series license and racing in real time; and on the other, those entered in ORC 0, featuring the necessary modifications to remain competitive in this class under corrected time.

“For us it is a great satisfaction to see how the TP52 fleet is once again playing a leading role at the Sandberg PalmaVela. We are talking about one of the most spectacular, competitive and prestigious classes in international sailing, and already having around ten yachts entered reinforces both the sporting appeal of the regatta and its position within the top-level European sailing calendar,” explains Manu Fraga, director of the Real Club Náutico de Palma.

With still two weeks to go before the discounted entry deadline, set for March 23, the Sandberg PalmaVela has already surpassed the entry numbers recorded in early March in previous editions. The regatta currently totals 106 registered teams across its two events: La Larga, with seven countries represented, and the Multiclass regatta, which already features flags from 12 nations on the participants list.

In addition to the TP52s, other classes such as ORC, both in fully crewed and A2 (double-handed) formats, are also showing strong participation figures, with 28 entries in La Larga and 33 teams in the Multiclass regatta.

The one-design fleets, including Flying Fifteen and Dragon, already add up to 17 boats, while the Spirit of Tradition class counts a further seven entries. All of this reinforces Sandberg PalmaVela’s objective of consolidating its position as one of Europe’s leading showcases for competitive sailing.
