The competition resumes in the Bay of Palma from today, December 12, through Sunday the 14th, with more than thirty boats taking part.

This second round, which runs until next Sunday, picks up after a first phase marked by very close racing.
The Swiss crew of Jupiter, led by Ben Kolf, currently tops the provisional standings after the five opening races held last November. The Swiss boat leads with 9 points, followed by Easy, skippered by Michael Zankel, in second place with 13 points, and Khalessi, sailed by Nicola Friese, in third with 20 points.
For this second round of the 9th Puerto Portals Dragon Winter Series, a fleet of more than 30 boats from around ten countries is expected. The weekend program includes a maximum of six races, with up to two races per day.
Racing will begin today, Friday, with the skippers’ briefing scheduled for 10:00 a.m. The warning signal for the first start will be given at 12:00 noon. On Saturday and Sunday, racing is set to begin from 11:00 a.m. onwards. Weather forecasts predict northeasterly winds of 8 to 9 knots for the opening day.
Once again, the regattas will coincide with the traditional Puerto Portals Christmas Market, which opens next Saturday and will run until January 6. The market features wooden stalls decorated with light garlands and fir trees, offering a wide variety of Christmas products, complemented by an excellent gastronomic offering and a broad program of activities.
Puerto Portals has become a benchmark venue for the Dragon class in the Mediterranean, and many boats choose this location as their base each year. In addition, the Puerto Portals Yacht Club will host the Dragon Gold Cup in 2026, a top-level event equivalent to a European or World Championship, which could attract around 80 boats.
