The sea returns to Canal 4 with Passion for the Sea

Passion for the Sea returns to Canal 4 TV and Canal 4 Radio, launching a new phase that builds on more than ten years dedicated to covering everything happening in the nautical sector from the Balearic Islands.

Broadcasts resume tomorrow, February 27th, with a weekly program returning to both television and radio, while also strengthening a digital ecosystem that remains active 24 hours a day throughout the year.

The project began in 2014 on regional public television and has since evolved into its own media platform, fully developed by Nautimedia Communication. From the start, Passion for the Sea has grown as an independent, self-funded editorial product at no cost to the public, a condition that guarantees complete independence in both content and editorial line, something the team considers non-negotiable.

This new phase on Canal 4 is supported by the professional structure of Nautimedia, a company specialized in nautical communication with more than fifteen years of experience. The company provides the program with its full team, a renovated studio and a new TV and radio set equipped with updated lighting, new cameras and professional microphones. The show is directed by Carlos Hellín, hosted by Marta Bennasar and produced by Toni Bestard, alongside the rest of the Nautimedia Communication crew, a multidisciplinary team bringing experience, technical knowledge and a direct connection to the Balearic nautical sector.

The program will air every Friday at 12:00 a.m. on radio and 09:30 p.m. on television, with reruns over the weekend. It will feature refreshed content and new sections that bring added dynamism to the format. All nautical disciplines will be represented in a space combining interviews, maritime history, practical advice, sector news and a constantly updated agenda of events taking place in the Balearics or involving professionals and athletes from the islands.

Beyond its return to the audiovisual schedule, Passion for the Sea strengthens its multiplatform model. All content is published in Spanish and English on its official website, www.pasionporelmar.com, which is updated daily and audited by OJD and AMIC, and is also distributed through podcasts, social media and its YouTube channel. This structure ensures that content is not limited to broadcast times but remains available and continuously growing 365 days a year.

Over more than a decade, the project has interviewed hundreds of professionals and key figures in the sector, expanding beyond the Balearics with coverage and reports across mainland Spain and abroad. Regattas, conferences, boat trips to cover events in Ibiza and international travel to give a voice to industry representatives are all part of a journey built on many miles at sea and a deep connection to the nautical world.

The vision for this new phase is clear: to create a program that reflects the positive face of the sea, combining enthusiasm and professionalism while bringing boating closer to society through an accessible and uplifting perspective. To achieve this, the show features prominent figures from the nautical world and, above all, the backing of a sector that sees Passion for the Sea as its own independent and committed platform for sharing its activity.
