The sea boosts innovation in Calvià: Up Sailing and Sailing Kailani, the ones that stood out in 2025

The success of the current edition conffirms the repetition of Calvià Emprèn for 2026, a free training program and of accompaniment for enterprising people who reside in Calvià.

This Tuesday, December 2nd, the Calvià Emprèn 2025 program has concluded in an event celebrated in the Palmanova room. Calvià Emprèn is a free program of training and accompaniment for enterprising people who reside in Calvià with a business idea in the initial phase. Specialized training is offered in development of projects and digital marketing, and consulting and mentoring to boost the proposed business. 

The mayor of the municipality, Juan Antonio Amengual, has addressed participants, ensuring the obligation on going forwards with this kind of initiatives boosted by the IFOC (the Training and Employment Institute of Calvià): «I want to reaffirm the commitment of the Town Hall of Calvià with enterprising, talent and innovation. Programs such as Calvià Emprèn, developed from the IFOC, form part of a wider strategy to diverisfy economy, generate quality employment and reinforce productive network of the municipality». 

The winning project has been Up Sailing, presented by Francisco Panario (award collected by a collaborator since Panario is out of the country at the moment). It is a circular economy project that transforms boat sails into deisgn accessories, geenrating positive social and environmental impact in Mallorca. 

The second place has been for another project linked with the sea, Sailing Kailani of Ana Mailén Ferreyra Ramil. It is a conscious tourism proposal that combines sailing and gastronomy, offering authentic experiences with the Mediterranean sea from a sustainable focus and of connection with nature. 

Antonella Sofia Ratto Gómez with the Escoleta Tintín and his friends have achieved the third place. It is a school with outdoors after-school activities for kids from 6 months old, based in playing, psychomotor education and movements in a free and stimulating environment. 

Carmen-Teresa Huertas Trujillo has bid for education with Amar-Mates: 1,2,3 Mates al revés. Maths after-school activities for 3 to 12 year-old kids through active, participative methodologies that boost thinking and creativity. This one got the fourth place. 

The fifth place has been for Montse Oliver Balaguer with Avec Âme, a sustainable hats brand of artesanal design that boosts responsible fashion, work inclusion and creation of unique pieces of high social value. 

Five final selected projects after a demanding semi-final have defended their proposals before a specialized jury that looks for the most important economic prizes of the program. 

In this year's edition, the jury of the Demo Day has been formed by four members of SECOT Balears. SECOT (Seniors Españoles para la Cooperación Técnica) is a national volunteers organization. With over 35 years of experience, SECOT has consolidated its position as a referent in the free and selfless business assessing. The organization is formed by qualfied professionals, directives and businessmen that, after completing their professional careers or being operative, have decided to focus their experince on enterprising service with humble spirit. 

All the participants that have completed the itinerary with satisfaction have received 400 euroes. The ones that have qualified in seconf and thir place have achieved 500 more euros, and 3.000 have been for the winning project.
