Carlos Rosselló, from Club Náutico de Ibiza, has achieved the second place in front of Adolfo Virgil.

O’Connor has added 37 points in a total of 10 regattas, with two partial victories and two second places. In addition to the overall title, the Balearic sailor has also won in the Under21 category.
Carlos Roselló, from Club Náutico Ibiza, has achieved second place with 45 points, after a solid recovery on the last competition’s days. The local sailor has exceeded Adolfo Virgil, from Real Club de Regatas de Alicante, by a point, who finishes the podium with 46 points. The second place has been decided on the last test, in which Rosselló has crossed the line in front of his direct rival. Since 2016, the Ibizan has not gone down on honor positions in Championships and Spain’s Cups in which he has participated, remaining as a referent of the national fleet.
The final test has been celebrated with wind from the east between 8 and 10 knots, which have made it possible to complete the three sets and to finish the expected program. A total of ten regattas have been celebrated in four days. Twenty nine sailors from six Autonomic Communities have competed.
In the Under21 category, after O’Connor, Fernando Abella, from the Federación Murciana de Vela, and Daniel Jiménez, sailor Club de Vela Port d’Andratx, have achieved second and third place accordingly.
ILCA 7 Spain’s Championship has formed part of the commemorative acts of the Club Náutico de Ibiza’s centenary. Even if the club has lost the license of their portuary facilities, the entity keeps on developing a wide calendar full of sportive and formative activities.
The trophies have been provided at the Calma de Marina Ibiza restaurant, with the presence of the Ibiza’s Council Sports director, Javier Bonet; Ibiza’s Sport Counsil councilor, Juan Flores; and the ILCA Spanish Association director, Javier Blanco; the representatives Marina Ibiza, Javier Cid, and the members of the directive board of the, alongside their president, Damián Verdera.
