The competition ‘Élite’ will be retransmitted live by IB3, the public television of the Balearics, from 4:25 p.m. on Saturday, with the reporter Joan Rotger as the narrator and the technical comments of athletes Carla Vey and Sete Benavides.
The regattas of Ciutat de Palma aim to increase the spectacle with turning manoeuvres, which obliges athletes to get out of their comfort zone and it generates great tension moments in every competition.
This format is, along the scenery of the competition, the main attraction of the event. “In the World Cups of the official circuit -affirms Carlos Borrás, coach at the RCNP and coordinator of the Ciutat de Palma-, Spanish athlete share that their international peers ask them my contact to know how they can participate in the Ciutat de Palma. That’s why this year we have added the phase ‘Open’ as an innovation, with an open inscription to paddlers of the whole world, and the K2 mixed modality, which adds a format designed so that sprinters and paddlers share the area on equal terms.
Piraguas Nelo, as the main sponsor, and Palma’s Town Hall, through their institutional sponsorship, support this initiative that aims to stand out in the local calendar of great international sports events. The competition also has the collaboration of Paddle Games, the Royal Spanish Canoeing Federation and the Balearic one.
