The Real Club Náutico de Palma held its 2025 Sports Gala this Saturday, January 10th, an event that brought together more than 400 people, including institutional representatives, members, athletes, coaches, and family members. The gala served as the crowning moment of a particularly significant year for the club, both on a sporting and institutional level.

During the gala, which was attended, among other authorities, by the Balearic Government’s Minister of Culture and Sports, Jaume Bauzá; the Director General of Sports of the Palma City Council, David Salom; and the President of the Balearic Ports Authority, Javier Sanz, 60 athletes were honored. All of them took part in a historic season in which the club achieved 147 podium finishes: 69 gold medals, 47 silver, and 31 bronze.

The President of the Real Club Náutico de Palma, Rafael Gil, highlighted that these results “are a reflection of the work, consistency, and commitment of our athletes, but also of the efforts of coaches and families, who support young people in the difficult balance between studies and high-level sport.”

The main protagonists of the evening were the four European champions in dinghy sailing developed at the club: Tim Lubat, Nikko Palou, Gabriela Morell, and Lluc Bestard. Alongside them, special recognition was also given to Álex Graneri, double world medalist in canoeing, a leading figure in a discipline with a long tradition at the RCNP, who in 2025 achieved his first international podium finishes in the senior category.

The gala also included special mentions for Hugo Ramón, for completing his fourth Mini Transat, as well as for professional sailors in the cruising class Manu Weiller, Juan Fullana, and Nacho Postigo, and for boat owner Luis Albert, European runner-up, among other athletes and teams who contributed to the excellent results of the year.

In his speech, the President of the Real Club Náutico de Palma emphasized that this “golden year” coincides with a key moment for the club’s future, following the definitive recognition of the right to extend its concession. “This decision guarantees the continuity of our sporting project and strengthens work that is not only a statutory duty, but part of our DNA,” he stated.

The president took advantage of the presence of institutional representatives to call for the swift execution of the ruling and to extend a hand for joint work on the design of the club’s new project. “The sporting successes of the Real Club Náutico de Palma are also successes of the port and of the institution that manages it,” he affirmed.

Likewise, Rafael Gil thanked the Balearic institutions for their constant support and requested recognition of the RCNP’s renewal plan as a “strategic project of general interest,” a status that would help ensure the continuity of an institution whose origins date back to the last decade of the 19th century and which, since its establishment in 1948, has stood out for its commitment to sport and to the city of Palma.
