The Port of Andratx successfully celebrates its second Sailor Fair

Andratx inaugurated this Saturday, October 18th, the second edition of the Sailor Fair, an event that brings together nautical professionals, artisans, and local residents around the culture of the sea.

From the early hours of the morning, the fair’s route welcomed hundreds of visitors who were able to enjoy the activities, exhibitions, and gastronomic offerings prepared for the weekend, the Town Hall reported in a statement.

The Mayor of Andratx, Estefanía Gonzalvo, officially opened the fair, accompanied by the Regional Minister of Education and Universities, Antoni Vera, and the Regional Minister of Labour, Public Function and Social Dialogue, Catalina Cabrer.

Gonzalvo highlighted “the importance of keeping the town’s seafaring identity alive and supporting the professionals and businesses that keep it active.”

The Sailor Fair featured around thirty stands dedicated to the nautical sector, including the exhibition and sale of second-hand boats, as well as an artisan market offering local products and sea-related items.

The program included activities organized by the Club de Vela Puerto de Andratx, such as the Fira Náutica, where visitors could buy or sell second-hand boats and learn about the latest industry developments, sailing taster sessions, guided tours of the club’s facilities, the exhibition “Bitàcola visual del Port d’Andratx”, participation in the II Mostra de Cuina Marinera with menus inspired by the sea, and the celebration of the Trofeo Visit Andratx Crucero, part of the XXIX Two Seasons ORC Series, one of the most important regatta circuits in Mallorca.

Music also played a leading role, with performances by Batucada El Puntazo and Dragomonis, who livened up Avenida Mateo Bosch from 5:30 p.m., followed by the presentation of the Charity Gala Against Cancer.

The day concluded with a varied musical program on the same avenue, featuring DJ Ross, Antonio Carmona, Jimy Fantasy, and Ramonells.

Several local establishments joined the celebration by offering special menus created for the occasion, inspired by maritime tradition and local products.
