The sample reunites fourteen classic ships photographs and three of modern ships of the Majorcan photographer Nico Martínez, captured in different regattas and sceneries of the Mediterranean along some years.
The ground floor of the Tramuntana building, of the Club de Mar Mallorca, hosts this exposition that will be able to be visited from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. this Thursday 14th and Friday 15th, while this Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th the opening schedule will last until 9 p.m.
The photographs, printed in an aluminium lamination with a 65 cm x 95 cm size and marked by Xicarandana, have a special edition with a subtil finish in sepia brown with the objective of giving homogeneity to the collection.
Nico Martínez exercises as a nautical photographer since 1990 and has been responsible for immortalizing Spanish challenges in 1990’s, 2000’s and 2007’s American Cup. In addition, he is the official photographer of the sailing Copa del Rey, of the TP52 and RC44 circuits.
The president of the Club de Mar Mallorca, Borja de la Rosa, has been responsible for inaugurating the welcome cocktail to the crews of the 40 ships that will participate in the regatta, pointing out that “this encounter is much more than a competition: is an opportunity to admire, sail and share beauty and history of these unique ships that are still alive thanks to the effort, dedication and passion of their shipowners”.
They have also dedicated some appreciation words to who make this edition possible, and to the main sponsors (Marine Pool, Allianz and Howden) for their firm support, and to the twenty collaborating brands because “thanks to them, this regatta keeps growing and projecting itself each time with more strength in the international calendar”.
