DID YOU LIKE THIS CONTENT? WELL... YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!The Palma Aquarium Foundation has been creating and participating in different social and environmental projects since 2016, with the objective of protecting and educating regarding the marine environment. Since September 2025, and monthly, the Palma Aquarium Foundation organizes “Ecos del Mediterráneo”: free conferences cycles about the sea.
The first conference will be held next Thursday, September 25th at 7 p.m. in the Sala Océano, of Palma Aquarium, and it is titled ‘Sea is changing, helps us investigate it.”
Before the changes that the Mediterranean sea faces (temperature increment, invading species arrival, biodiversity loss…) civilian science presents itself as a key tool for investigation, allowing anyone to collaborate in vigilance and protection of the marine environment. The platform Observadores del Mar canalizes this cooperation, connecting it to the civilians with scientific projects that work to increase the knowledge and improve the conservation of marine ecosystems.
Marina Bolaños, coordinator of the Balearics of Observadores del Mar, will participate. The session is moderated by Debora Morrison and Marco Magazzu, director and technician of the Palma Aquarium Foundation. The session will be led by Debora Morrison and Marco Magazzu, director and technician of the Palma Aquarium Foundation.
The entry is free, but the seating is limited, so an inscription fulfilling the following application is required. An inscription for person. More information here: https://palmaaquarium.com/ciclo-de-ponencias-ecos-del-mediterraneo/.
In the following sessions, themes in the pursuit of marine conservation will still be treated. In october, Agustí Torres, SharkMed’s president, and Biel Morey, scientific coordinator in Save the Med, will present the results of his study about sharks in Cabrera. In november, Joan Mayol, passionate naturalist, presides the initiative for the small Mediterranean islands, will talk to us about the monk seal. To suggest new topics or going as a speaker you can write to conservacion@palmaaquarium.com.
Palma Aquarium and its Foundation expect that this kind of actions help achieve their objectives regarding conservation, education and investigation partially, as well as reuniting all the people linked with the sea.
