The One and Construcciones Metálicas Fita Trophy crowns its winners

Ibiza's Championship - One and Construcciones Metálicas Fita Trophy rgathered 72 sailors in sessions marked by a demanding wing and a great competitive level.

Yesterday, Sunday, November 2nd, Ibiza's sailing Championship for Optimist, ILCA 4 and ILCA 6 ships, which took place on October 25th and 26th and on November 1st and 2nd, under the organization of the Club Náutico Ibiza and the Balearic Sailing Federation, with the sponsorship of One Ibiza Suites and Construcciones Metálicas Fita, came to an end in waters of the Platja d’en Bossa. 

The date reunited 72 sailors coming from different nautical clubs of the island. The most crowded fleet was the Optimist class one, with 50 young competitors, consolidating itsellf as the category with the most participation.

The championship was developed from the new nautical headquarters of the Club Náutico Ibiza, located in Marina Ibiza, an infrastructure that opens a new key phase for the training and competition activity of the club facing the 2025–26 Autumn and Winter season.

The Optimist regattas were celebrated throughout the two weekends, completing ten qualifying races. On their behalf, ILCA 4 and ILCA 6 classes completed five races furing the last weekend. The wind conditions were variable and demanding, with intensities of 8 to 21 knots, especially during the sessions of October 16th and November 2nd.

Ian Maurovich (C.N. Ibiza) was crowned winner with authority after leading the competition since the first session and gaining five victories in the 10 completed races, closing with 13 points in the overall. The second position was for Paula Pina (C.N. Sant Antoni), with 23 points, achiecing in addition the title of first in U15. The third spot of the podium was for Giulio Planells (C.N. Sant Antoni). In the U11 category, victory was for Ibai de la Torre (C.N. Sant Antoni) in boys and for Dunia Sigiro (C.N. Ibiza) in girls.

ILCA 4 class had María Torres as the winner, dominating the juvenile category with a total of 4 points. Carlota Mediero (C.N. Ibiza) was second with 11 points, while the third place was occupied by Juan Quirante (C.N. Santa Eulalia) with 12 points.

In ILCA 6, the title was for Marc Tur (C.N. Ibiza) with 5 points. Very close, with 6 points, finished Víctor Bonet (C.N. Sant Antoni), while the always competitive Alejandra Lloyd (C.N. Ibiza) completed the podium with 12 points.

The awards ceremony took place in the facilities of Marina Ibiza, presided by Alex Minchiotti, in representation of the Twon Hall of Ibiza; Cati Darder, president of the Balearic Sailing Federation; Javier Marí, on behalf of Marina Ibiza; Damián Verdera, president of the C.N. Ibiza; Rebeca Gómez, in representation of the Balearic Optimist Class Association; and Jordi Tur, in name of the Construcciones Metálicas Fita.

All the representants pointed out the excellent work of the Club Náutico Ibiza in the training of young sailors as well as the organizing quality of its sporting events. With this championship, the club closes the light sailing season, a campaign in which it has shone, specially due to the organization of the Spain's Championships and the 36th Jornadas Náuticas Pitiusas:

• ILCA 7 Olympic class Spain's Championship, where Carlos Roselló (C.N. Ibiza) was crowned runner-up.
• Finn's class Spain's Championship, in which Alejandro Cardona (C.N. Ibiza) achieved the bronze medak.
• 36th Jornadas Náuticas Pitiusas,in which the boat “Alba Alba” of Luis Mata (C.N. Ibiza) achevieved a deserving third position.
