The regatta organized by Club Nàutic Cala Gamba is a Federation cup event for the ILCA 6 class, featuring 71 sailors from the Balearic Islands.

Starting today, May 16th, the ILCA 6 class resumes racing with a strong turnout, as the event serves as a Federation Cup regatta for this category. Sailors from Menorca and Ibiza have also traveled to Mallorca for the competition, while the ILCA 4 class will join the races on Saturday, May 17.
The ILCA 6 fleet is scheduled to complete six races, three per day, from today unp until Sunday. A total of 71 sailors (43 boys and 28 girls) will compete in one of the highlights of the season for the es Coll den Rabassa club. Today, participants gathered at Club Nàutic Cala Gamba for registration confirmation, measurement checks, and sail stamping.
Among the top contenders are Aina Garau, from Club Náutic s’Arenal, the current Balearic champion, and Gabriela Morell, a sailor from the Real Club Náutico who was recently crowned U17 European Champion. On the boys' side, the podium finishers from the recent Balearic ILCA 6 Championship, Tim Lubat and Sergio García, both from Real Club Náutico de Palma, and Carlos Zendrera, from Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa, will also take part in the Setmana de Vela – DURAN’S TROPHY.
Club Nàutic Cala Gamba will be represented in the ILCA class by Marianna Orduña, Inés Martorell, Savina Vicens, and Lucia Salas in the women’s fleet, and Daniel Llinás, Lluís Tur, and Marc Femenias in the men’s.
As for the ILCA 4 class, a total of 36 sailors are registered to compete on Saturday and Sunday.
The Optimist and lateen sail classes opened the first weekend of the competition, and the full list of winners of this year’s Setmana de Vela – DURAN’S TROPHY will be known by Sunday.
Now in its 16th year, the regatta began as a traditional sailing-only event, but new classes were added as early as its second edition. Since its inception, the regatta has been supported by the local building materials company DURAN.
