The Ibiza Joysail closes its entries with 22 boats registered and 13 on the waiting list

The Ibiza JoySail 2025 has exceeded its expectations and the registration quota with 22 boats registered as participants for the fifth edition of this spectacular superyacht regatta, which will be held from 18th to 21st September in the exclusive Marina Ibiza.

The Ibiza JoySail organisers, formed by the STP Shipyard Palma and Marina Ibiza teams, opened the registration process in the first quarter of the year and in just a few weeks the list of 22 boats was completed, two more than the 20 initially planned, leaving up to 13 boats on the waiting list.

The success of the four previous editions has meant that many shipowners and captains have shown their interest in participating in the event. Almost half of the boats taking part this year will be debutants, such as ‘Anomaly’, ‘Cervo’, ‘Ganesha’, ‘Haromi’, ‘Karibu’, ‘Kiboko IV’, ‘Magic Blue’, ‘Namuun’, ‘Savuke’ and ‘Spiip’.

Those who will have the chance to repeat will be ‘Ammonite’, ‘Aurelius’, ‘Jasi’, ‘L'Hippocampe’, ‘Liberty Squared’, ‘Moat’, ‘Morgana’, ‘Nostromo’, ‘Open Season’, “Shambho” and ‘Viento y Gelliceaux’, a SW108, a boat that since its launch in 2023 has sailed more than 12,000 miles, after a maiden voyage of 7,500 miles between Cape Town and Lanzarote, and then crossed to the Caribbean, and returns to Ibiza this year. Among the novelties are boats of the highest level such as the ‘Maxi Kiboko IV’, the latest in the saga. It is a spectacular SW108, which has been voted boat of the year at the Boat International World Superyacht Awards.

The ‘Anomaly’ is the ex-Ribelle, a 107-foot unit designed by Malcom McKeon and built by Vitters, as is the ‘Cervo’, which will be the largest boat in the fleet at 128 feet. There will also be the 94-foot ‘Wally Magic Blue’, designed by Reichel & Pugh. The ‘Spiip’, a 107-foot Baltic, is designed by Mani Frers, in a more modern version of this saga of Argentinian designers.

‘Southern Wind‘ and ’Nautor's Swan" are the shipyards with the largest number of boats participating in Ibiza JoySail 2025, both with six units. The SW are ‘Ammonite’, “Gelliceaux”, ‘Kiboko IV’, ‘Liberty Squared’, ‘Magic Blue’ and ‘Morgana’. And the Nautor's Swan ‘Haromi’, ‘Jasi’, ‘L'Hippocampe’, ‘Moat’, “Savuke” and ‘Siipi’. In addition, two Y-Yachts Y7, Shambo and Viento; two Vitters Anomaly and Cervo; two Baltic Yachts, Gelliceaux and Open Season, and with one unit we find the J.O.M. Holland, Aurelius; an Oyster, Karibu; Turquoise Yachts, Namuun and a Pendennis, Nostromo.

The ‘Moat’ continues to stand out among the recurring participants; this Swan 115 has achieved victory in all the previous editions, the four that have been held so far of the Ibiza JoySail, thus consolidating itself as the main rival to beat once again. On the other hand, in the category of the new Café Racer models, which follow a particular “box rule”, the presence of the ‘Open Season’, a regular boat in the Balearic waters, and also the ‘Ganesha’, which could not participate in the last edition despite being registered, stands out. The two Café Racers are expected to engage in an intense duel on the race course.

The Ibiza JoySail is distinguished by its relaxed atmosphere but at the same time high-level competition at sea. It is a "family&friends" event that balances exciting days of sailing with social and entertainment activities on land, becoming a reference in the Mediterranean superyacht circuit.
