Four boats, authentic sea legends amongst them such as ‘Tuiga’ (1909) or ‘The Lady Anne’ (1912), will compete from Augsut 13th to 17th in the 30th anniversary of the regatta organized by Club de Mar-Mallorca.

This year, the Illes Balears Clàssics Regatta celebrates its 30th edition as a consolidated event that reunites some of the most emblematic ships of the nautical scope.
A total of 40 ships will take part in the competition, which will take place from August 13th to 17th, 2025, in the Club de Mar-Mallorca. The commodore, Manuel Nadal, pointed out yesterday, August 11th, in the press conference that this edition will count with debuts such as the one of ‘Cariad’, a 36 meters long ship built in 1896, and with the participation of classics such as ‘The Lady Anne’, ‘Tuiga’ or ‘Manitou’, authentic legends of sailing.
Ships will compete in Clásicos, Época (Cangreja y Bermudiana), RI Clásicos, Espíritu de Tradición and Grandes Esloras categories, in addition to a special section named Presencia, which allows singular ships to participate in the ambience of the regatta with no need to compete. Such is the case of the llaüt ‘Alzina’ or the ‘Doña Francisca’, of 52 metres long, whose deck has served as scenery of the official presentation of the regatta.
The crossings, according to Nadal, will be comprehended between the 8 and 22 miles and will include a long regatta. On his behalf, the general director of Club de Mar-Mallorca, José Luis Arrom, pointed out that the economic return for the Balearic community will reach the 1,7 millions of euros, a 25% more than in the last edition.
The Illes Balears Clàssics Regatta, sponsored by Marine Pool, Allianz and Howden, has consolidated the last years as an unforgettable encounter spot for classic sailing and maritime patrimony preservation lovers. In the mark of commitment with sustainability, Club de Mar-Mallorca will integrally donate to Almas Marinas foundation the obtained raising for the selling of beverages during the regatta.
In addition, they will collaborate with Sail 4 Earth, whose founder, Wilhelm Landmann, will give a prize to the ship that gives out more money through the Uno Earth app, destined to the protection of marine reserves.
The press conference was celebrated aboard the ‘Doña Francisca’, of Captain and skipper Andrés López, with the presence of Gabriel Mestres, director of Allianz Mallorca; José Cuart, Howden’s director; Esperanza Llinás, director of the Baleares Eulen; David Ramljak, director of Boatsters, and representatives of Glicerrr.
The 30th edition will count with a great social program oriented to sharing the maritime patrimony, which includes an exposition of the nautical photographer Nico Martínez, a conference of the sailing manager of the Army, Ricardo Álvarez Maldonado, and guided visits of Leonardo de Vincentiis to the docks to explain the history of each boat. Cocktails post-regatta will also be organized for crews.
The Illes Balears Clàssics forms part of the XV Trofeo Clásicos Mare Nostrum – Copa de España de Vela Clásica, 2025 CIM Circuit (Campeonato Internacional del Mediterráneo) and the Mediterranean Champions Cup, organized by the Vintage Classic Yacht Club (VCYC).
The Club de Mar-Mallorca organizes this regatta by delegation of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation, with the collaboration of the Balearic Sailing Federation, the Royal National Cruisers Association and the Spanish Association of Period and Classic Boats.
