The Council of Andratx requests improvements in the coastline management

The mayor of Andratx, Estefanía Gonzalvo, alongside the first tenant of mayor, Sr. Joan Forteza, and Environment councillor, Sr. Antoni Nicolau, have reunited the morning of yesterday, Wednesday, July 30th, with the councillor of the Sea and Water’s Cycle. Sr. Juan Manuel Lafuente Mir, the directorate general, Sr. Antoni Mercant and PortsIb manager, Sr. Francisco Villalonga.

The encounter had the main objective of treating those topics that affect the neighbours of the municipality. Amongst them, establishing acting protocols that allow optimizing resources and answering efficiently to different needs. 

From the Council the importance of increasing the presence and vigilance in the coast has been solicited, making reference to the environmental protection, the waste management and the fulfillment of the current law of the boats.

The Council has also shown interest for the state of the application of the solicited authorizations of beaches and buoy camps of Santo Yelmo. And it has also been solicited an actuation in the rehabilitation of the boatyards of Andratx’s port and the Cala Conejos. area.

In addition, an organization and coordination of the different expected works in the frontline of the coast has been suggested, as well as the events that are carried out, such as the Christmas Market or the Nautical Fair

Finally, a weekly marked in the port of Andratx has been solicited with the objective of increasing the complementary offer in the coastal spot in which a wide part of the ‘andritxola’ population lives.

The mayor Estefanía Gonzalvo has valued positively the reunion to be able to show the Board first-hand the real problem of the ‘andritxoles’ and the necessities of the municipalities. She has highlighted the importance of the coordination between administrations, reaffirming the compromise they have as a Government team to work on the improvement of life quality of the civilians of the municipality.
