The Second Vice President and Councillor for Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports of the Consell de Mallorca, Pedro Bestard, joined them to learn about the experience and highlighted that “the Consell promotes group sports like kayaking, coasteering or paddle surfing, as a way to engage in physical activity and build community.” “We have increased the budget and the hours of this activity to open it up to broader public participation.” The program is expected to reach more than 3,000 people during the summer of 2025.
The activities can be requested in groups through the town halls, which handle them with the Consell de Mallorca. This program joins other sports options managed by the municipalities in coordination with the institution: talks on values, activities as part of “Fairs and festivals”, or “Mou-te amb salut!”, the latter aimed at elderly people.
"Activitats d’estiu 2025" includes nine featured experiences: scuba diving baptism, water biking, dragon boat, coasteering – hikes along rugged paths by the sea –, kayaking, paddle surfing, hiking, and snorkeling. The program offers, on one hand, activities through the town halls to promote sports practice among the population, and on the other, allows young people themselves to request any of these experiences on their own initiative.
