The COE awards Marta Cardona and Jordi Xammar with the Values Award

The RFEV celebrates the recognition given to Jordi and Marta at last night’s gala, which marked the close of the 2025 sporting season.

The COE jury chose to honor the sailing duo for exemplifying the values of Olympic sport, both on and off the water, a recognition that highlights not only their sporting achievements, but also their commitment, teamwork, respect, and dedication, hallmarks of Spanish sailing.

Marta Cardona, from Club Nàutic s’Arenal, and Jordi Xammar enjoyed an outstanding season, being crowned 470 World and European Champions in 2025, consolidating their status as one of the strongest crews on the international scene. Jordi Xammar, an Olympic bronze medalist with an extensive career at the top level of Olympic sailing, and Mallorcan sailor Marta Cardona, a model of consistency and steady progression, form a partnership that combines experience, talent, and ambition.

The 20th COE Gala, held last night in Madrid, brought together the leading figures of Spanish sport and honored athletes, coaches, and teams who have defined the year. In this context, the Values Award received by Cardona and Xammar underscores the positive impact of Spanish sailing on the national sporting landscape.
