The Club Nàutic S’Arenal delivers a check with the 6.019 euros raised euros thanks to the participation of 550 swimmers in the twenty-fourth edition of this iconic solidary race.

The president of the club, José Ramón Picó, has handed the check to the president of ELA Balears, Cati Rigo, for a total import of 6,019 euros, raised thanks to the the inscription of 550 swimmers that participated last summer in this traditional swimming test in open waters.
During the act, Tolo Bonet, father of the event and historical figure of the club, and Iñaki Miró, speaker of the directive Board of ELA Balears, have also been present.
Bonet, the driving force behind Sa Milla for more than two decades and a participant in almost all its editions, remains the heart and soul of the event and a symbol of the spirit of solidarity that defines it. Now in his 80s, he continues to attend every edition to cheer on the swimmers and keep alive the essence of this sporting event.
Rigo expressed her gratitude to the club and all the participants for their commitment to the cause, highlighting that “it’s an event that runs perfectly, a complete success and now a well-established race among open-water swimmers.” The president of ELA Balears explained that “the proceeds will go entirely toward the association’s main services: emotional support, psychological assistance, respiratory physiotherapy, and speech therapy.”
She also wanted to send a message to other organizations and sports clubs: “We encourage anyone organizing a charity event to donate their proceeds to ELA Balears; every contribution directly helps improve the quality of life of people affected and their families.”
For his part, the president of CNA, José Ramón Picó, emphasized that “for the club, it is a source of pride to collaborate with this association and to contribute our small part so that patients and their families can have a better life.”
The Sa Milla CNA – Cala Blava has become one of the most anticipated sporting, social, and charitable events of the summer in Mallorca. For more than two decades, it has combined sport, the sea, and social commitment in a day that brings together hundreds of swimmers and supporters around a single cause: the fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
