The “Bribon”, skippered by the King Don Juan Carlos, has written one of the most brilliant pages in international sailing after conquering their fourth world title in the 6 Metres class, consolidating an unique sporting success in the history of this prestigious class.

The next two years, this trophy will be exhibited in the social room of the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo until 2027 August is moved to Helsinki (Finnland) for the new fight of the world’s championship.
This victory in the United States means not only a new sporting achievement for the Galician team, but also the confirmation of commitment and the passion of King Don Juan Carlos for sailing, a sport to which he has been linked his whole life.
The four world titles achieved by the “Bribón” place the Spanish crew in the international elite of the 6 Metres class, a category that combines tradition, competitiveness and elegance, and that reunites some of the best sailors and historical boats of the planet.
In addition to King Don Juan Carlos, the crew of the ‘Bribon’ is formed by Galician Pedro Campos, Cantabrian Jane Abascal, Canadian Ross Macdonald, Galicians Alberto Viejo, Río Álvarez and David Louzao, as well as Basque Eduardo Marín.

The ‘Titia’, with base also in RCN de Sanxenxo and skippered by Mauricio Sánchez-Bella and Alicia Freire, reached the world’s runner-up title after a memorable comeback. Despite a discreet start, the Galician team climbed up positions until consolidating as second qualified, showing the high level of preparation that characterizes the Spanish League of 6 Metres, that every year takes place in Pontevedra’s river between the months of March and November.
In addition to the world’s runner-up title, the ‘Titia’ celebrated an additional success with Alicia Freire, by receiving the Lucie Trophy, that distinguishes the best female crew qualified in the whole fleet of the world’s championship.
