The beach of Camp de Mar launches a new watchtower

During this month, the new watchtower has been installed in the beach of Camp de Mar, a work programmed with beforehean to not interfere during the main touristic and beaches season, which kicks off at the beginning of May with two lifeguards destined to every area of the municipality's coast.

The Environment's and Civil Protection's councillor, Antoni Nicolau, supervised the installation with the goal of placing it in a strategic place of the beach, guaranteeing this way an expanded visual control and a more efficient answer to any incidence.

The tower will be completely active and it gets up to four meters, incorporating an elevated shed with doorways and anti-glare glass, safety rails and anti-humidity paving, which eases the work of the safety staff during the season.

Antoni Nicolau vallued opsitively to put into force of this infrastructure. “With this installation we improve surveillance conditions and answer before emergencies. We arrive to the new season with better resources, more active capacity and a safer service for neighbord and visitors”, pointed out the councillor.

The mayoress of Andratx, Estefanía Gonzalvo, remarrked the importance of investing constantly on prevention and safety. “It is a priority for this Town Hall that our beaches have modern and efficient resources. We will keep working to offer a safe, accesible and high-quality environment in a municipality that lives in front of the sea”, he pointed out.
