According to the Club Náutico de Santa Eulàlia, the organisers of the event along with the Santa Eulària Town Council and Ibiza’s Council, this competition is a qualifying event for the national circuit and represents a key stage in the athletes' preparation for upcoming international competitions.
For three days, the thrill of the boards will fill the east coast of the island with races that promise to offer a vibrant spectacle, both for the specialised public and for those who approach this discipline for the first time. The iQFoiL is a new Olympic modality with boards that rise above the water thanks to the use of foils, bringing greater speed and spectacularity to the regattas.
Santa Eulària was chosen as the venue because of its optimal wind and sea conditions, as well as its infrastructures, which allow it to host large-scale sporting events in a privileged natural setting. With this championship, Ibiza reinforces its commitment to water sports and sustainable sports tourism.
A large number of locals and visitors are expected to attend, as well as extensive media coverage, in an event that combines elite sport, Olympic spirit and respect for the environment.
