Mallorca has dawned this Friday, November 21st, with an important hailstorm in some areas, in a session marked by the bad weather in the Balearics. According to the Meteorology Statal Agency (Aemet), cloudy or covered skies and rains that can become locally strong, especially in Mallorca and Menorca.

The wind will be another of the main spotlights of the day, with north and northeast components blowing with moderate to strong intensity and streaks which will shift from 70 to 90 km/h. Therefore, the Aemet keep active warnings due to wind in Ibiza, Formentera, the south of Mallorca and Tramuntana’s mountain.
In the maritime area, Menorca is in important risk due to coastal phenomena, with north winds of 50 to 75 km/h (7 to 8 strength) and waves that will reach the 4 to 5 meters, with maximum waves that could reach the 8 or 9 meters. In Mallorca, the north, northeast, south coasts and the coast of Tramuntana could also be under warning due to winds of 6 to 7 and waves of up to 3 or 4 meters.
Regarding the rain, Mallorca keeps warning with rains of up to 20 mm in an hour in Tramuntana’s mountain and in the north and northeast of the island. Menorca also presents a risk of similar accumulations, although with less probability.
Bad weather will continue on Saturday, November 22nd, with wind and coastal phenomena warnings. Menorca could register waves of up to 10 meters and 80 km/h streaks, while the rest of the archipelago will follow strong winds and a significant wave amount.
