The APB presents Palma’s New Seafront Promenade with a charity race

Proceeds from the 10 km race will go entirely to Projecte Home Balears.

The Balearic Ports Authority (APB) is presenting the New Seafront Promenade of Palma with the first APB Charity Race, taking place on November 15th and 16th, 2025. This initiative, intended to continue in future editions, has a double goal: to promote physical activity in one of Palma’s most iconic settings and to support a charitable cause.

The event will be a family-friendly sports weekend starting on Saturday, November 15th, with an exhibitor fair featuring organizations linked to sports, health, and solidarity in Sant Domingo de la Calzada square. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., free sports activities will be offered for all audiences, along with fun proposals for children. That same day, bibs and t-shirts will be distributed for Sunday’s races.

On Sunday, November 16th, the sports day will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a group warm-up, followed at 10 a.m. by the start of the APB Charity 10 km Race, open to participants over 16. The course will allow runners to explore the Ponent-Paraires docks, an area of the port usually closed to the public and opened for the first time to participants. Starting at 11 a.m., children’s races will be held, with distances adapted to each age group, and at 12 p.m. the 4 km Fun Walk will take place, open to everyone.

APB president Javier Sanz highlighted that “all activities will be free of charge, although those wishing to take part in the sports race can make a symbolic donation. All funds raised in this first edition will go entirely to Projecte Home Balears, an organization committed to the care and reintegration of people with drug dependency issues.”

All proceeds from registration for the 10 km race, which has a fee of €10, will go entirely to Projecte Home Balears. Meanwhile, the Fun Walk and children’s races are free and non-competitive. At the finish line, all participants will receive a commemorative medal and a piece of fruit.

The event also aims to reflect a commitment to sustainability. A drinking water station will be installed so that runners can refill reusable bottles and reduce the use of single-use plastics.

Registrations are already open through the EliteChip website, and bibs must be collected on Saturday, November 15th, at Sant Domingo de la Calzada square.
