The APB guarantees the contuinty of the Club Nàutic Portitxol with a concession expanded until 2040

The expansion of the phase is subjected to the investment on behalf of the club of close to 10 million of euros and to guarantee the social and practical promotion of nautical sport.

The Administration Council of the Balearics Portuary Authority (APB) accorded yesterday, December 10th, in a celebrated reunion in the port of Palma, giving 15 years to the Club Nàutic Portitxol. The accord implies in addition the modification of the concession to incorporate over twelve thousand additional meters of water mirror, which will allow reordering and expanding the dock and the nautical services of the club.

With the expansion of this phase, the concession will be expanded until December 15th of 2040 and stays linked to the execution on behalf of the club of global investment close to the 10 million of euros. The project proposed by the CN Portitxol expects relevant performances in portuary infrastructures, the reordination of the indoors dock, the creation of the exterior dock with new jetties and seawall, a new boatyard, improvements in portuary facilities, beaconing systems, drafts cleanings, and safety, health and environment surveillance plans amongst them.

In sports matters, the club committs to reinforcing its social and training use, keeping its orientation towards teaching sailing, boosting base sports and social access to small lenght boats, with non-profit goals and with reduced taxes. For the APB, this profile matches with the installation model that is expected to be preserved in the reordination of the Portitxol.

The port-city integration forms another of the axis of the approved extension. The project expects performances directed to improve the pedestrian connectivity, erase physical barriers and reorganize service areas to make the open relation with the urban environment easier. Part of these performances will coordinate with urbanistic interventions expected by the APB in vials and promenades of the areas.

In the environmental area, the CN Portitxol must implement advanced measures of waste management, quality control and environmental surveillance, in addition to guaranteeing that any performance that requires it has a favorable report with marine strategies before the technical approval of the project.

With this extension, the APB guarantees the continuity of the sports and social services of the CN Portitxol, now adapted to the needs of the future reordination of the portuary area and of the sustainability and environmental improvement goals set by the portuary organism.
