Administrative Board’s Balearic Portuary Authority (APB), in the reunion held yesterday, June 25th, in the afternoon in the port of Palma, agreed on assigning the moorings, the service station, the boatyard area and the commercial premises in Botafoc’s area, in the port of Ibiza, to OCIBAR’s company, in regimen of the administrative authorization.

Currently, the Port’s Special Plan is in an advanced processing phase, which stops, until it’s approved, the call of a contest for a long duration concession, between 20 and 30 years, which allows facing significant necessary investments for integral renovation of the facilities.
This contest has the aim to guarantee quality service service in the portuary area during the transitory period, while the application of the new concept is finished. The area, object of management, covers a total of 97.000m², of which 43.000 m² belong to the land area, with various facilities for commercial use, a service station for recreational sailing, and an area for boatyard and boat repair. A 54.000 m² of water sheet is added to it, which covers 432 mooring places, distributed in 5 docks.
The allocation considers an annual occupation tax of 2.215.013,76 euros and an activity tax of 4% on the business volume generated by the portuary services exploitation. In addition, OCIBAR S.A. has offered an improvement of 8.850.000 annual euros taxes.
With this resolution, the APB ensures the continuity and improvement of the management of one of the most relevant enclaves of Ibiza’s port, awaiting that the new Special Plan allows addressing an integral development and at long term of the area.
