The Aemet activates warnings due to rain and storm in the Balearic Islands

The Statal Agency of Metheorology (Aemet) foresees for this Thursday, November 6th, 2025, a day marked by inestability in the Balearic archipelago, with cloudy intervals and downpours that can be locally strong and come with storm and hail, especially in the morning. The rain will remit in throughout the afternoon.

In Mallorca, some morning fog banks could be formed, while night temperatures will experience a rise and the daylight ones a decrease, reaching the minimum at the end of the day. Wind will blow moderatedly from the southeast, rotating throughout the morning to west and southeast, with intervals of strong intensity.

The Aemet also keeps warning due to important risk (40%-70%) of storms in the south of Mallorca between 08:00 a.m. and 10:59 a.m., with wind gusts that could overpass 90 km/h. 

In addition, rains of 30 milimeters an hour are expected at the Sierra de Tramontana (from 08:00 a.m. to 02:59 p.m.) and in Menorca (from 10:00 a.m. to 04:59 p.m.). In Ibiza and Formentera, rain could reach 20 milimeters per hour between 05:00 a.m. y las 11:59 a.m..

Regarding Saturday, November 8th, Aemet will activate again the warning for rain in Ibiza, Formentera and the Sierra de Tramuntana, where accumulations of up to 20 milimeters an hour during the whole journey could be registered. 

Methereological authorities recommend exercising cautiong in displacements and avoiding open air activities during storm episodes.
