More than 20 boats have confirmed their attendance with four months still to go before the event, and the organization expects to surpass 30 participants.
Among the registered boats are newcomers such as the “Cariad,” a 36-meter sailing yacht built in 1896, and the classic “Malamok.” The event will also welcome back notable participants like “The Lady Anne,” “Halloween,” and “Manitou,” vessels that have already become a living part of this nautical tradition’s history.
This year’s regatta will feature four days of racing, a format maintained following its introduction last year at the request of the boat owners, who value the opportunity to enjoy more sailing time in the privileged setting of Palma Bay.
The 30th Illes Balears Clàssics Regatta is part of the main classic sailing circuits in the Mediterranean: the 15th Mare Nostrum Classics Trophy - Spanish Cup of Classic Sailing, the CIM 2025 Circuit, the International Mediterranean Championship, and the Mediterranean Champions Cup, the latter organized by the Vintage Classic Yacht Club (VCYC).
The categories invited to participate are: Classics, Vintage, RI Classics, Spirit of Tradition, and Large Boats. In addition, the event includes a special section called Presencia, aimed at vintage and classic boats over 50 years old, which will be present at the club as part of the event’s atmosphere, though not competing in the races.
Established as one of the most prestigious regattas in the Mediterranean, the Illes Balears Clàssics will celebrate its 30th edition in August with a high-level turnout and a strong commitment to keeping the tradition of classic sailing alive.
The event, organized by Club de Mar-Mallorca (CDM) by delegation of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation (RFEV), is held in collaboration with the Balearic Sailing Federation (FBV), the Royal National Cruising Association (RANC), and the Spanish Association of Vintage and Classic Boats (AEBEC).
