Summer weekend in the Balearic Islands: sun, heat and calm seas

The first thing we all check before the weekend arrives is what the weather will be like.

That’s why, on Passion for the Sea, in collaboration with Àngel Muñoz, creator of Meteo de les Illes, we bring you the weekly weather forecast every Friday so you can plan ahead and enjoy the sea with all the necessary information.

For Friday, 29th of May, a fully stable day is expected, with mostly clear skies across the entire region. Temperatures will rise slightly compared to previous days, bringing a clearly warm and very pleasant atmosphere to close out the month of May.

Winds will be light, blowing from the west for much of the day, accompanied by the usual coastal breezes, especially in coastal areas. Toward night-time, winds will tend to shift to a northerly direction, although without reaching significant strength.

With this setup, the Balearic Islands will experience the last weekend of May under very calm weather conditions. Maximum temperatures will range between 26 and 28°C at sea level, while nighttime lows will remain mild, ensuring comfortable nights.

In addition, atmospheric stability will bring light surface winds and very calm sea conditions. Waves will hardly exceed half a metre in height, and in many sheltered and less exposed areas, the sea will remain almost flat.

Another highlight will be sea water temperature, which will remain high for this time of year, between 24 and 25°C. These conditions will strongly favor outdoor activities, boating, and the first proper summer beach days.
