That is why, at Passion for the Sea, in collaboration with Àngel Muñoz, creator of Meteo de les Illes, we bring you the weather forecast every Friday, so that you can plan your activities in advance and enjoy the sea with all the information you need.

A radical change in the weather situation is expected in the Balearic Islands this weekend. Saturday, April 11th, will be calmer, but from Sunday, April 12th onward, northwesterly to northerly winds will set in, causing a marked deterioration in conditions, especially in northwestern Mallorca and Menorca, with rough sea conditions.

In fact, coastal weather warnings (between 40% and 70%) have been issued for Sunday across almost the entire archipelago. Northerly and northeasterly winds of between 50 and 60 km/h (force 7) are expected, generating heavy swell.

The worst conditions are expected in the north and northeast of Mallorca and in Menorca, where the warning will remain in force throughout the day, from 08:00 to 23:59, with waves of between 3 and 4 metres. In the Serra de Tramuntana, the warning will be in effect from 08:00 to 19:59, with waves of up to 3 metres.

In the rest of the archipelago, such as Ibiza and Formentera, as well as the south and east of Mallorca, the warnings will begin from 10:00 onwards. In these areas, winds of up to 60 km/h and waves of around 3 metres are also expected, with the episode lasting until the afternoon or evening depending on the area.

In addition, the day may bring rainfall, mainly on Sunday, together with a notable drop in temperatures, more pronounced in the northwest of the Balearic Islands.

Overall, Sunday is expected to be marked by worsening weather, with rough seas and adverse conditions along much of the Balearic coastline.

For this reason, at Passion for the Sea we recommend taking extra precautions when carrying out outdoor activities and always checking the weather forecast before heading out to sea.
