According to the situation of the general interest ports at 6:10 a.m., the ports of Palma, Alcúdia, Maó and La Savina remain active, while Ibiza continues to be closed due to adverse meteorological conditions. The measure will remain until new warning, just as the Balearics Portuary Authority (APB) has informed through its social media.

The Statal Agency of Meteorology (Aemet) has activated the orange warning due to wind in Ibiza and Formentera, with an important danger level and a probability between 40 % and 70 %. Warning has been active from 7 a.m. to 11:59 a.m. this Thursday, February 12th, 2026, due to maximum streaks of 90 km/h, with wind of east nature.

However, during the early morning, even higher values have been registered. In the airport of Ibiza there have been streaks of up to 105 km/h, while in the city there have been of 63 km/h and in Sant Antoni de Portmany, 57 km/h, according to meteorological data.

The weather does not only affect the Pitiusas. The Balearic Islands remain under warning due to coastal phenomena in all the archipelago. Aemet expects west winds between 55 and 70 km/h (7 to 8 force) and generalized waves of 3 to 4 meters, with individual waves that could go between 6 to 8 meters, specially in Mallorca and Menorca.

In the rest of the archipelago, the wind warning is yellow level, with streaks that go between the 70 and 80 km/h. In areas such as the Sierra de Tramuntana, north and northeast of Mallorca, and the inside of the island and Menorca, streaks could reach 90 km/h and even promptly overpass the 130 km/h in heights and capes.

Regarding Friday, February 13th, warnings due to yellow level wind and coastal phenomena in Ibiza and Formentera, as well as in different points of Mallorca and Menorca, with streaks that go up to 80 km/h and waves of 3 to 4 meters.

On Saturday, February 14th, the situation will remit partially, although win in Ibiza and Formentera will remain, with streaks of 70 km/h. In Menorca, however, the orange warning due to coastal phenomena in the afternoon will be activated during the afternoon, with north wind of 60 to 80 km/h (8 to 9 strength and waves between 4 to 6 meters.

Facing this outcome, the Aemet recommends being careful, avoiding unnecessary trips by sea and nautical activities or sports, as well as following the indications of authorities and emergency services at all times while the negative methodological conditions remain.
