The Spanish team of Optimist, formed by Alejandro Valero, Juan Lleonart, Marta Mansito, Mar Infante and Mallorcan Jan Palou, from Real Club Náutico de Palma, achieved revalidating the title of world champion by teams yesterday’s afternoon, July 2nd, in waters of the Slovan locality of Portoroz, after defeating Singapur 2-0 in the final.

YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!The national group has been formed by Valencian Alejandro Valero, Catalan, Juan Lleonart, Balearic Jan Palou, from Real Club Náutico de Palma, Canary Marta Mansito and Andalusian Mar Infante, under the orders of Fernando Alegre and Julián Viciano as coaches. Mansito was already a member of the Spanish team that achieved gold in last year’s edition, so she is crowned two times champion of the world by teams.
After Spain at the highest of the podium and Singapore in second place, the USA has completed the honor positions of the World champs by teams.
The national teams has imposed itself in the first regatta of the final against Singapore, and in the second has repeated the victory with a lot of ease, getting the title by 2-0.
This is the third consecutive medal for Spain in the world’s date of team racing, after the gold achieved also against Singapore in last year’s world’s champs, which took place in Mar de Plata(Argentina), and the silver of 2023’s edition, which took place in Costa Brava (Girona), under the organization of Club de Vela Ballena Alegre.
Optimist World Champs is taking place in Portoroz. In the individual modality, three journeys of the six qualifying ones have been carried out, and tomorrow, the final series will start, after two days focused in the team racing format.
