“From a tendency point of view, charter is showing a major difficulty to recover the pre-pandemic levels, before a more stable private-use market, even if it's sustained by the small lenght. Either way, the charter market is still an essential pillar for recreational boating in Spain”, explains the general director of ANEN, Jordi Carrasco. “After the strong boost that the rental experienced during the pandemic, now we observe a stabilization of the market, with logical adjustments that answer to a major normalization of the demand. The interest for boating keeps growing, but the user looks for more diversified experiences, and that will mark the evolution of charter the following months", he adds.

Either way, the Balearic Islands keep the national leadership as the area with the most quota in this market, by keeping the 16,3% of registries in the whole of Spain. It is followed by Barcelona, with a 11,8% and 542 units, and Alicante, with a 6,9%.
