The activity will begin on Saturday, May 30th, at 7.30 a.m., with the Ultraswim Ibiza, a demanding crossing of approximately 30 kilometres linking Santa Eulalia with Es Pujols beach in Formentera. A total of 20 swimmers will take part in this long-distance event, for which they will have a maximum time of 10 hours.
Ultraswim Ibiza has established itself in recent years as one of the most demanding and unique competitions on the open-water swimming calendar. Participants will face an open-sea route between Ibiza and Formentera, where physical and mental endurance, strategy and sea conditions will be decisive.
On Sunday, May 31st, it will be the turn of the Mini Ultraswim Ibiza, which this year is once again part of the Spanish Open Water Swimming Cup as the third stage of the national circuit. The start is scheduled for 10.30 a.m. and will bring together swimmers from different categories and levels, opening the competition to athletes from clubs across the Balearic Islands and the rest of Spain.
The Club Náutico Santa Eulalia has highlighted the importance of continuing to promote sporting events linked to the sea and of positioning Ibiza as a leading destination for nautical and open-water swimming events.
The organisation of both competitions involves a wide-ranging safety, maritime coordination, logistics, technical support and participant assistance operation. To this end, the club has the collaboration of institutions, support vessels, technical teams and organisations that make it possible for the events to take place under optimal conditions.
Santa Eulalia Bay will once again provide a privileged setting for sport, with the sea and Ibiza’s landscape taking centre stage. Residents, visitors and fans will be able to come along over the weekend to follow both competitions up close and enjoy the sporting atmosphere generated by the two-day event.
With the staging of the Ultraswim Ibiza and the Mini Ultraswim Ibiza, the Club Náutico Santa Eulalia reaffirms its commitment to sport, the sea and the promotion of Santa Eulalia as a venue for major events linked to the Mediterranean.
