Club de Vela Port d’Andratx’s sailor, Mar Gil, has begun the olympian classes European Championship with force, achieving a significant second place at the inaugural race of the 49er FX class alongside her partner Stella Enríquez, from Real Club Náutico de Vigo.

The European reunites 111 teams, of which 30 are 49er FX ships coming from 17 countries, in the first great continental event of the new olympic cycle towards the Games of Los Angeles 2028.
The expected meteorological conditions point out to medium winds and a plain sea during the rest of the week, ideal for a competition that is celebrated in the historical waters from which, in Alejandro Magno’s era, expeditions that marked the Mediterranean’s destiny were carried out.
