The Consell de Mallorca will hold the 24th edition of the Sports Gala at the Auditorium in Palma, with the presence of young athletes who achieved podium finishes in 2025. The gala will recognize 317 athletes between the ages of 6 and 16 who have reached milestones in national and international competitions. Notably, 28 are from canoeing and 35 from sailing.
The event will focus on sport and the environment, understood as the connection between physical exercise and the land. Mallorca is much more than a setting for sport: it is a companion along the way for enjoying outdoor activity. This gala aims to inspire athletes, organizers, and the wider public to adopt a mindful attitude and take care of natural spaces.
The gala will be hosted by journalists Toni Terrades and Melisa Aliaga, and the award winners will be accompanied by two distinguished godmothers: athlete Esperança Cladera and sailor Paula Barceló from Club Nàutic s’Arenal, two examples of athletes who have reached the highest level despite their youth.
The second vice president and councillor for the Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard, said that “the gala is an important recognition of these young athletes, who project sporting values beyond the islands’ borders. We have never awarded so many podium finishes before, and there is a clear qualitative improvement in the results.” Bestard also highlighted that “this year the Values Award goes to Mallorca’s top-flight referees, the Career Award to the historic trotter ‘Es boveret,’ the Excellence Award to Illes Balears Palma Futsal for its active collaboration with the Consell, and the Centenary Award to the Football Federation of the Balearic Islands.”
From today, Tuesday 10th of March, anyone who wishes to attend the Consell de Mallorca Sports Gala can purchase tickets, which are open to the public through this link.
The number of athletes who reached the podium in 2025 has increased significantly compared with 2024, rising from 291 young athletes to 317. However, the most significant figure is the increase in podium finishes achieved: more than 400 across various national and international championships, clear evidence of the strong work being carried out by the sports federations.
If we look at the data for the athletes honored at the 24th Consell de Mallorca Sports Gala, we find a broad spread of results: champions in as many as 29 different sporting disciplines will be represented.
