This figure represents a 31.6% decrease compared to the same period last year, although it does not prevent the archipelago from maintaining national leadership by province, followed by Barcelona and Alicante, with 172 and 117 registrations respectively.

Across the entire Spanish market, the total number of registrations was 1,352, reflecting an 11.7% drop compared to the same period in the previous year. This decline affects the recreational market as a whole and indicates a slowdown in the sector during the first months of the year.

Of all the registrations recorded in Spain between January and April, 68.2% were for private use, while 31.8% were for nautical charter purposes. Thus, the charter market saw 430 recreational boat registrations for rental use across Spain, compared to 561 during the same period in 2024.

In the nautical charter segment, the Balearic Islands also maintained the lead, with 118 registrations—down 31.8% compared to the first four months of 2024. They were followed by Barcelona, with 57 charter boat registrations, and Alicante, with 45.
