The Consell de Mallorca – Consorci Museu Marítim de Mallorca has been honored with a Special Mention at the 13th Ibermuseos Education Awards for the project “De la mar a la taula. Receptes d’ahir a cuines d’avui”. Launched in 2022, the initiative recovers and promotes the maritime and fishing culinary heritage of the Balearic Islands, highlighting traditional knowledge and its connection to contemporary gastronomic practices.

In this 13th edition, 200 projects from across Ibero-America were submitted, with 10 winning awards and another 10 receiving special mentions, including the project by the Museu Marítim de Mallorca.
Together, these twenty initiatives will be included in the Bank of Good Practices in Education and Shared Imagination: Memory of the Ibermuseos Education Award, forming part of a broad mosaic of over 300 Ibero-American experiences that reflect the commitment of institutions to historical and social memory, heritage appreciation, social cohesion, and justice.
The Museu Marítim de Mallorca highlights the work of its educational team, led by Maria Àngels Castañer, as well as the anthropological research carried out by Margalida Mulet and Diana Borràs at the Port of Pollença. Recognition also goes to the senior participants of the Memory Workshop at IMAS, Consell de Mallorca, led by Joana Fiol Amengual; Marta Bauzà, coordinator of Social Affairs at the Sóller City Council; and the culinary students of IES Guillem Colom Casasnovas, guided by vocational teacher Juan Antonio Fernández.
The award resolution, published on September 29th, 2025, in Lisbon, emphasizes the commitment of museums to promoting cultural diversity, inclusion, and citizen participation throughout Ibero-America.
