Princess Leonor will complete her military training aboard the 'Blas de Lezo' frigate

Princess Leonor returns this Monday, June 9th, to Spain after having stayed for 5 months aboard the school ship of the Army "Juan Sebastián Elcano", one of the stages of her military naval training that will continue the following days aboard the “Blas de Lezo” frigate.

At the “Blas de Lezo”, considered as one of the most capable and advanced worldwide anti-aircraft frigates, the heir to the Crown will complete, for a month, her military, marine and naval training with an operative phase in which the exercise Sinkex will participate to integrate herself in the Expeditionary Combat Team ‘Dédalo’ in waters of the occidental Atlantic and Mediterranean.

The Sinkex exercise, which aims to try out real fire weapons systems to prosecute ships’ drowning or other targets afloat, will be the first part of this stage aboard the frigate, in which she will embark next June 14th in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The “Blas de Lezo” will be incorporated afterwards to the “Dédalo”, an expeditionary combat group of the Spanish Army lead by the Juan Carlos 1st aircraft carrier.

Meanwhile, the 75 midshipmen colleagues with which the heir to the Crown has spent these 5 months about the “Elcano” will have set sail towards Spain from New York on June 10th, an oceanic journey after which the princess will embark again in the school ship the nest July 3rd in Gijón.

The instruction cruiser of “Elcano” will finish the journey in Marín (Pontevedra) on July 13th, finishing an era of naval training for Leonor de Borbón who, after the summer, will launch her uniform and colleagues again in the Air Army at the San Javier Academy, in Murcia.

In San Javier, Leonor de Borbón will be introduced with the fourth course cadets of the 78th promotion, if so she will count with a study plan adapted with subjects of other courses, but she will be integrated with the rest of peers, according to the academy’s director.
