Currently, a total of 183 beaches, of which 570 are from the archipelago, have the authorization to manage the posidonia scraps.

More specifically, the actions that are carried out in this sense imply the withdrawal of the beaches’ posidonia, always out of the water, the transport and the collection to then assign traditional uses to it or return it to the beaches.
The number of returned posidonia to the beaches has also increased considerably between 2020 and 2023 and, in terms of the used scraps, which is only done in Mallorca, it has increased slightly.
According to the council, only a small portion of the beaches take part in this action and the councils are those which ask for the management. Menorca is the island with the least management and the natural braces with no services are the least intervened
