Ports de les Illes Balears (PortsIB), a public body attached to the Ministry of the Sea and the Water Cycle, has initiated the procedures for the allocation of permanent berths corresponding to List 7 at the port facilities of s’Estanyol, in the municipality of Llucmajor, and Portocolom, in Felanitx.

In the case of s’Estanyol, the procedure will make it possible to offer a total of 27 available berths, of which 4 are in the water basin and 23 are on the port esplanade, distributed by type and dimensions. This availability will allow part of the applications registered on the current waiting list to be addressed, respecting the order of registration and the characteristics stated in each request.

In Portocolom, the procedure provides for the availability of 36 permanent berths, likewise distributed by type according to length and beam. This action will make it possible to move forward in addressing accumulated demand and to accommodate a significant number of applications that until now could not be met due to lack of availability.

The activation of these procedures represents a partial easing of the waiting lists at both regional ports and forms part of the ordinary management of the public port domain, aimed at optimizing existing resources and improving access to permanent berths for non-professional recreational vessels.

The agreements establish that, once processing has begun and following publication in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB), the applications included on the waiting lists may not be modified. In the case of generic applications, all available berths will be offered when the interested party’s turn arrives, guaranteeing equal treatment and transparency in the procedure.

Likewise, the agreements provide for their publication both on the Ports de les Illes Balears website and in the BOIB, with the aim of ensuring public access to information and proper dissemination of the start of these procedures.

With these actions, PortsIB continues to move forward in the orderly management of regional ports and in the progressive improvement of attention to waiting lists, within the physical and operational limitations inherent to each port facility.
