Playa de Palma hosts the 1st Mallorca Beach Water Polo Tournament

From the 12th to 14th of June 2026, Playa de Palma will be the setting for three days of competition, sport and a festive atmosphere next to Club Nàutic Portitxol.

Palma is preparing to host a unique water polo event. From Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June 2026, Playa de Palma will welcome the 1st Mallorca Beach Water Polo Tournament, a competition organised by WP CAMP with the collaboration of the Balearic Swimming Federation and Club Nàutic Portitxol.

The tournament will take place in a cove located next to Club Nàutic Portitxol, in a privileged setting with views of Palma Cathedral and the Serra de Tramuntana. The location, just 15 minutes by car from the airport and two kilometres from the city centre, makes the event an attractive sporting and tourism proposal open to national and international teams.

This first edition will be aimed at Open category teams, whether men’s, women’s or mixed, with participants over the age of 16. The competition will feature teams made up of five players in the water, four outfield players and one goalkeeper, and will be played on an inflatable pitch measuring 15 metres long by 10 metres wide, installed in the sea.

The sporting programme will begin on Saturday with the group stage, featuring teams such as CN Banyoles A, CN Banyoles B, CN Molins, CE Illes Balears, Taurons Negro and Taurons Naranja. The final matches will be played on Sunday, when the first WP BEACH Mallorca champion will be crowned.

Matches will consist of two ten-minute periods with running time and a three-minute break. The organisers will apply a scoring system that awards three points for a win, two points for a win on penalties, one point for a defeat on penalties and zero points for a defeat.

Beyond the competition itself, the tournament has been created with the aim of becoming a true water polo celebration. Throughout the weekend, participants will be able to enjoy parallel activities such as free training on the official pitch, an after-training gathering at Club Nàutic Portitxol, a beach paella, a private dinner and a party with a DJ.

Club Nàutic Portitxol, an organisation with more than 90 years of history and strong ties to nautical sports, will be one of the main supporters of the event. All participants will be able to use its facilities and services during the tournament.

Registration includes participation in the tournament, a welcome pack with the official T-shirt and the official dinner on Saturday 13th of June. The fee will be 80 euros for players registered with federations in the Balearic Islands and 100 euros for participants from other territories.
