'Pasión por el mar' returns to Sa Ràpita with its most festive regatta

29th August 2025 by Nautimedia

On Saturday, September 27th, 2025, the Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita (CNR) will host the third edition of the Regata Pasión por el Mar, an event that combines competition, good vibes, and a passion for sailing and regattas. It has already become one of the most anticipated nautical events in southeastern Mallorca.

The regatta is open to cruising boats from all yacht clubs with an ORC certificate and a 2025 federative license. The race will start at 11:00 a.m., featuring a coastal course between S’estanyol, Son Bieló, and Es Trenc, designed to be spectacular from the sea while also visible from the shore. “We want people to experience sailing and regattas from the water and from the shore, enjoying the sight of sails on the horizon,” explains Carlos Hellín, producer of Pasión por el Mar.

The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the opening of the race office. After the on-water competition, the celebration continues on land in the CNR social tent, featuring a mariner’s snack, a communal meal for participants, and a fun, informal trophy ceremony.

As tradition dictates, the top three finishers will receive awards, and there will also be surprises for other participants, including the last-placed boat, reflecting the regatta’s spirit of camaraderie and good humor.

The event is named after and sponsored by Pasión por el Mar, the Nautimedia Comunicación platform that produces TV and radio programs through Grup4 Comunicació (Canal4) and provides daily content on www.pasionporelmar.com and social media, focusing on maritime culture.

The regatta’s history shows that its spirit goes beyond competition: the first edition in 2023 featured 11 boats, with Nidea II (Aleix Truyols) winning, S’Indio III (Joan Lladó) second, and Beduino (Carlos Garau and Pere Pau Fullana) third. The second edition in 2024 saw 14 boats representing clubs like CNR, CN S’Estanyol, Puerto Portals, and CN Sóller, with S’Indio III (Joan Lladó) taking first, followed by Peppa (Simon McGoldik) and Huayra (José Martín).

“Beyond the results, we aim for everyone to have fun, foster camaraderie among sailors, and ensure the day is remembered with a smile for being both competitive and enjoyable,” says Hellín, highlighting the CNR and its members’ essential role in the regatta’s success.

The event is supported by collaborators like Antoni Reta, who will delight participants with his culinary offerings, and sponsors Suau and Puig, adding quality and commitment to this nautical celebration.

Registrations are already open via cruceros@cnrapita.es or through the official portal hereSpots are limited and subject to mooring availability, so early registration is recommended.
